Learn how to develop the best story possible with a few simple tips to unlocking the inner writer in you

Writing a killer story is not an easy task. You have to capture the reader, and this means no BORING stuff. Begin every creative writing piece with a quick brainstorm, a collection of ideas as to how you want the story to unfold. Make sure your ideas aren’t too cliche, be original and imaginative. If you’re having trouble coming up with ideas, look at some images, or other pieces of text for inspiration.

From here, where next? Well, its time to write of course. Now, when beginning your story, do not use up all of your ideas in the first few paragraphs. SPACE them out. Be DESCRIPTIVE. Set the SCENE of the story, the setting of where the characters will be immersed. A strong establishment of this will help the reader to become attached to the story, and provides the illusion that they are a part of it.

DEVELOP your characters throughout the story, that’s if you have any in it. The reader wants to be able to relate to the people in the story, understand them and experience the moments too. They find it hard to do this when you do not developed the persona of the character enough.

Finally, be original. There’s no point writing a great piece when its been done a hundred time before. Reach for the WOW factor, and remember, being a little strange doesn’t mean that your story is bad. Write from the heart, become part of the story. You have complete control of what will happen, and it is up to you in writing that tremendous ending…
